Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Jolie plays the seductive British archeologist-adventurer who follows her late dad’s directions to find-and destroy both pieces of an old keepsake that might command time. Maybe the dullest action-venture film ever made, with flat inscribing and behaviors spare for Jolie and inanimate direction, sparked from time to time by some fishy set-pieces. Major League II: After a miraculous comeback season that landed them in the ALCS last year, the Cleveland Indians have set their sites on the World Series. The off-season has seen many of the teams best players go through changes. After a slow start can these guys get back to their old ways and start winning like they did last year?

Shadow of the Vampire: Vibrant and entertaining fiction movie in reference to the making of F.W. Murnau’s classically scary German quiet film Nosferatu. Malkovich is excellent a demanding filmmaker; Dafoe is magnificent as Max Schreck, a performer or is he? Cast includes Elias Merhige, John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Cary Elwes, John Aden Gillet, and Catherine McCormack. (93 minutes, 2000)

Shades of Fear: Flat, disheartening tirade in reference to a youthful female Ayola who yearns to become a guide and the assorted characters that crosses her road as she cruises for England. Inscribed by Jeanette Winterson who wrote the far better novel ‘Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit’. The British version helped make it better. Cast includes Rakie Ayola, John Hurt, Jonathan Pryce, Vanessa Redgrave, and Dorothy Tutin. (92 minutes, 1993)

La Notte: Moreau is uninterested and bothered by one-dimensional spouse Mastroianni in this research of non-communication. The second of a trilogy, anteceded by La Ventura and followed by L’ECUSSE.
