Advice On Organising A Memorable Stag Event

Organising the groom’s stag party can be a gruelling chore, but at the same time it is of course an honour. It does however put quite a large amount of pressure on the organiser to prepare an event that people will remember for the right reasons, not for the wrong ones.
There are several areas that need to be attended to when planning for your party, firstly how long will it be. The fashion in recent times is for a weekend of activities or at the very least a day of activities followed by food, beer and what ever else springs to mind.
It is important to sound out the majority of your group regarding budget as you want everyone to enjoy themselves and not feel obligated to join in against their will.
Once you have an idea of budget you can start looking at venues and activities. It is always a good idea to choose an activity that everyone can join in with, young, old etc. This can limit the choices but it will make for a better day for all if you think about the party as a whole.
A venue that has some nightlife close by is ideal, as well as some other activities preferably. That way you can plan your activities and events for Saturday, follow them with a night out and stay in a local hotel, then have some lighter events planned for the Sunday. It is advisable to have any dangerous activities or those that involve driving planned for the Saturday, so that on the Sunday, the more easy-going and gentler activities can help nurse the hangovers.
Preferably you would use a venue that runs several activities in one location, making the overall organisation much easier because you will only need to talk with one venue. Also, a multi-activity venue such as this is likely to have connections with local hotels, clubs and restaurants etc. simplifying your search dramatically.
It would also be a good idea to run a light-hearted competition through the weekends events, ensuring that everyone has an equal chance of winning by somehow handicapping the people who are good at certain activities. This is a great way to ensure everyone has a good time as it applies meaning to the events and provides a catalyst for people who don’t know each other all that well, to get to know each other.
Something else to bear in mind is that the average age of people getting married is rising and so the athleticism of people attending stag parties is going down. You may therefore have some guests that are young and in their prime, but you may have some that are older and less active, and this is one of the things to take into account when planning activities that everyone can join in with.
It is often difficult to choose between activities that a few people will really relate with and enjoy, and ones that everyone can enjoy regardless of whether they have done it before. It is worth the time spent on these decisions though, to provide a stag event that is fully enjoyable by all. Also, splitting up the evening entertainment is a good idea so that the older guests can enjoy eating with the rest of the group, but then leave if they want when the younger group members go on to a club.
